Mammotion vs Segway Navimow: which robot mower to buy in Australia

Quick answer: Buy a Segway Navimow if you want the simplest wire-free setup for a lawn up to about 1,000 m² with open sky: the i206 AWD ($2,398 at Bunnings) uses network RTK with no antenna and climbs 45% slopes. Buy a Mammotion if your yard has big trees, steep slopes or more than 1,000 m²: the LiDAR Yuka mini 2 1000 ($2,299) and Luba mini 2 AWD 1500 ($3,399) need no satellite fix, and the Luba is rated for 80% (38.6°).

How we picked: We compared these 7 picks on navigation, lawn area, max slope and price, using maker specs, Australian retailer prices and owner reports. We haven't tested them hands-on yet, and maker claims are labelled as theirs. Commission never changes the order. Full method.

Mammotion and Segway Navimow are the two names most Australians end up choosing between once they decide against a boundary wire. Both sell robots that map the lawn through an app, both sell at Bunnings, Robot Mowers Australia and Amazon Australia, and their prices overlap from about $1,500 to $4,000. The real difference is how they find their way, and that decides which suits your yard. Prices are from Bunnings, Robot Mowers Australia, Mammotion and Segway Navimow on 18 October 2026 (the Luba Mini AWD 800 on 21 October); for the Amazon listings, check the current price on Amazon. This is a comparison of maker specifications and retailer listings; we have not mowed with these robots.

On the day we checked, the Mammotion was cheaper at three of the four sizes and $1 dearer at the fourth, and in the 600 m² and 1,500 m² rows it carried the much higher slope rating. Navimow’s case is simplicity: the i206 and i210 AWD have no antenna, no base station and 4G built in, and Bunnings sells both.

Satellites or lasers

Navimow’s i-series and X-series robots work out where they are from satellites, corrected to centimetres by RTK, with a camera (VisionFence, which Navimow says recognises 150 or more obstacle types) for obstacles and edges. The newer i206 and i210 AWD take their corrections over the internet through built-in 4G, so there is nothing to mount; Navimow lists the i105A and i108A simply as “RTK + Vision” with 4G as an option. Robot Mowers Australia describes the X315A’s positioning as RTK combined with visual mapping (VSLAM) and inertial odometry.

Mammotion has moved its newer models to a spinning 360° LiDAR plus two cameras. Mammotion says the Yuka mini 2 1000 and Luba mini 2 AWD 1500 need no RTK, NetRTK or antenna, and that the Luba 3’s LiDAR has a 70 m range. The practical difference is shade: a satellite robot needs a reasonable view of the sky, a LiDAR robot does not. If your lawn runs under big trees or beside a two-storey wall, that is the deciding point. If it is open, both work and the choice comes down to price, slopes and where you want to buy. The wire-free robot mower guide explains RTK, network RTK and LiDAR in more detail.

Slopes

This is Mammotion’s clearest advantage. Every Luba AWD model is rated for 80% (38.6°), from the Luba Mini AWD 800 ($2,399 at Robot Mowers Australia) up to the Luba 3. Navimow’s i2 AWD robots stop at 45% (24°), and its steeper-rated machine, the X450 AWD at 84% (40°), is $5,999 and sized for 5,000 m². For a typical sloping suburban block, Mammotion gives you more slope for the money. The robot mower for slopes guide explains how to measure your own.

The picks

The Segway Navimow i206 AWD is the Navimow to buy: $2,398 at Bunnings, no wire, no antenna, AWD and built-in 4G. Step up to the i210 AWD ($2,598) for 1,000 m² and twice the battery. On a budget, the i105A ($1,799) and i108A ($2,099 at Robot Mowers Australia, on sale) are wire-free but rated for 30% slopes, and their 4G is an extra.

The Mammotion Yuka mini 2 1000 is the Mammotion most people should buy: LiDAR, 1,000 m², IP67 and a three-year warranty for $2,299. Choose the Luba mini 2 AWD 1500 ($3,399) if the lawn is steep or bigger, and the Luba 3 AWD 1500 ($3,899) if you want the wider 400 mm cut. The main robot mower guide compares both brands against Ecovacs, Husqvarna and the rest.

Where to buy

Buy where returns and warranty are easiest for you. Bunnings stocks the Navimow i206 and i210 AWD and the Mammotion Yuka Mini 600 and Luba Mini AWD 800. Mammotion Australia sells direct with free shipping, 30-day returns and a three-year warranty, and its Amazon listings are sold by Mammotion AU. Navimow’s Australian site lists nearly 150 dealers and Click and Collect stores. Robot Mowers Australia sells both brands and lists a 7-day trial version of the Navimow i105A.

The one trap

Comparing the 4G deals as if they were the same. On a network RTK robot like the Navimow i206 AWD, 4G is how it gets its position corrections, so the service has to keep running; the Amazon listing says the first year is included. On Mammotion’s LiDAR robots, 4G is for remote control and theft tracking only, and the Luba mini 2 and Luba 3 include three years of data. The Yuka mini 2 navigates with no connection at all, and its 4G module is a $229 option. Ask each seller what the service costs once the free period ends, and count it in the price.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mammotion or Navimow better?

Neither wins everywhere. Navimow's i2 AWD models are simpler to set up in open yards because they use network RTK with no antenna. Mammotion's LiDAR models cope better with heavy tree cover and its Luba AWD range climbs much steeper slopes.

Which is cheaper, Mammotion or Navimow?

At similar sizes they are close. The cheapest Navimow we found was the i105A at $1,799 for 500 m², and the cheapest Mammotion was the Yuka Mini 600 at $1,499 at Bunnings. Around 1,000 m², the Yuka mini 2 1000 is $2,299 against $2,598 for the Navimow i210 AWD.

Do Mammotion and Navimow mowers need 4G?

Navimow's i206 and i210 AWD have 4G built in and use it for network RTK; the Amazon listing says the first year of service is included. Mammotion's Luba mini 2 and Luba 3 include three years of 4G data, while its LiDAR Yuka mini 2 needs no connection to navigate and sells 4G as a $229 module.

Where can I buy Mammotion and Navimow in Australia?

Both are at Bunnings (Navimow i206 and i210 AWD; Mammotion Yuka Mini 600 and Luba Mini AWD 800), Robot Mowers Australia and Amazon Australia. Mammotion also sells direct, and Navimow's Australian site lists nearly 150 dealers.
